The backstory: How the Elderthorne got its name

When the high roads of Drakoria fell to mist and bandits, the artificers of House Vaerundar bound an ancient elder tree to a war-boiler and swore it to the king’s mail. The roots learned the language of iron; the iron learned patience. Lantern sprites were caged at the prow to guide it through fog and memory. Villagers began to call it the Elderthorne—for the thorns that grew along its chassis and the wisdom in its tread.
It runs only at night, stopping where hope is thin: a letter delivered, a life ferried, a rumor dispelled. This canvas captures that moment between breaths—the Elderthorne Express stepping out of the smoke, lamps bright as vows.
